Trusted by the world’s most recognised brands.

Project: Foundations. Brand. Website. Marketing.
Client: Pearce Signs
Date: 2023 onwards

Challenge

Chances are, you won’t have heard of Pearce Signs. But we can guarantee you’ve seen their work. They’re the oldest sign maker in the UK, going back to 1791 when George III was on the throne. This is a company with buckets of history. It’s also the company behind all those familiar household brands whose signs we see along our local high street.

No-one was more acutely aware than Pearce of the disparity between its current brand identity, and its status as a global company entrusted with some of the world’s biggest brands. Neither did full justice to its profile and reputation.

And we knew by taking on the mantle of this project, that all eyes would be on us too. So no pressure, then.

Strategy

Drawing on insights from our Brand Advantage programme, we quickly identified that Pearce needed a brand strategy and website that conveyed some of its core attributes - everything that you’d expect from a global brand custodian - trust, stability, dependability, as well as its continued thirst for innovation, and an obsession with quality and consistency. Oh, and did someone mention its heritage?

We took their intention “To be the most trusted brand implementation business in the world and the benchmark for quality and service in our industry”, and created this:

“Trusted by the world’s most recognised brands since 1791”

Solution

Taking inspiration from their company crest of 1791, we created a flexible identity system that made an important nod to its past while conveying a progressive 21st century sense of purpose to its global corporate audience. The geometry of their new 'P' takes the angles from its original chevron of 1791 to create a logo which uses perspective to represent the built environment in which they work.

For their website, we created a fresh platform that confidently presented the company’s range of services beyond just their core offering or global brand identities - flooring, interiors, electricals. But we also needed it to be an indispensable resource for case studies and blogs, as well as a showcase of its proven credentials. We also created a space where it could evidence its significant commitment to sustainability.

Both its new brand and website also formed the basis for a new marketing and social media strategy that would regularly disperse insights into its recent work as well as thought leadership pieces on industry trends.

IMPACT

The new Pearce website is now the cornerstone of its online marketing presence - confidently positioning the business as a global leader in company signs and corporate branding.

As such, it’s now the platform to which its new programme of social media activity is directed - acting as a compelling resource for case studies and blogs, and a business development tool in its own right.

Pearce is big on sustainability - and in 2024 won GOLD in the Sustainability in Signage category at the Sign & Wrap Awards. The company’s website, with a specific section on sustainability, now plays a key role promoting its genuine commitment to its own green ambitions, and those of its clients.
